After Friday morning Mass, the fifth graders were caught exploring the plants in the courtyard. It was part of their science unit on plants. Our scientists, with clipboards in hand, were classifying the various plants as monocots and dicots based on the plant’s flowers and vein patterns in the plant’s leaves. The rich variety of plants made for a great learning experience right in our own ‘backyard’.
