Daisy Scouts

We are a dynamic troop that includes 22 girls from First and Second Grade.  Meetings are held every other Thursday after school from 2:30-3:45 PM.  Our troop will be earning several badges throughout the 2015-2016 school year.  With guided hikes through the Gardens at Schoepfle, supply collection for care packages going to troops in the Middle East, Camp Timberlane for overnight fall camping, sledding, horseback riding, ice skating, winter camping and an overnighter at the Zoo the girls are truly enriched by the Girl Scout program here at St. Mary’s School in Elyria.  Does Daisies sound like the perfect fit for your daughter? Feel free to contact us for information on registration within our troop. Contact:

Girl Scout Troop 50061

Our Junior GirL Scouts at St. Mary’s School in Elyria have been together since Daisies! We total out at 13 girls that are in fourth and fifth grade. Meetings are held on the weekends at varying times. We are trying something new this year! Our meetings will be combined with our field trips. Upcoming field trips and camping include the following:

  • camping at Kelly’s Island
  • camping and horseback riding at Mohican
  • Colonial Sampler event in Peninsula
  • a visit to a local police station to work on the Detective badge
  • visits to the Botanical Gardens, the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center
  • Classes at Joanne Fabrics

The girls will continue to work on fire building skills, orienteering, canoes, Low Ropes, and all things outside!!

Previous service projects have included a book drive where several hundred books were collected for area youth. The books were donated to the Boys and Girls club. The girls also filled the local Little Free Libraries. They have also made pet toys donating them to homeless pets in area shelters. They’ve taken up collections for deployed military dogs as well and sent care packages to service dogs overseas.

Our troop plans to tackle their Junior Aide badges this year along with the Bronze  Award.
