Thomas the Tank Engine came to visit first grade during Catholic Schools Week. We were studying communities and community helpers. The first graders decided to use what they learned about communities as well as their talents to build a community for Thomas. The community had houses, schools, a church, bank, hospital, fire station, police office, library stores, roads, cars signs, people, and Thomas’ railroad. Everyone enjoyed running Thomas through his community.
